On March 10, 2017, the Post of Moldova put into circulation the 9th special postmark this year dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and other countries, Ukraine this time. The two countries share a common border (nearly 1000km to the east) with, however, the self-proclaimed territory of Transnistria which separates them on a part of this eastern border. Relations between the two countries have sometimes been complicated, particularly because of border disputes along the southern border, but a cooperation agreement was signed this year to boost trade (project of railway line between the two countries via Transnistria...) or to strengthen the protection of the ecosystem along the river Dniestr.
