On June 6, 1992 the Republic of Moldova and the Kingdom of Sweden formally established diplomatic relations and have today respective embassies in Chișinău and Stockholm (also accredited for Finland and Norway). Sweden is one of Moldova's top donors, particularly in support of institutional reforms and the defense of human rights or the fight against corruption, but also in many economic fields (infrastructure, energy, agriculture, transport...). 25 years later (to the day), the Post of Moldova put into circulation a new special postmark devoted to relations between the two countries.
