The Romanian Post has dedicated many stamps in the past to Nicolae Grigorescu (1838-1907), considered as the greatest Romanian painter, the first Romanian painter to adorn outdoor painting and founder of modern painting in Romania, a personality who influenced many other painters like Ion Andreescu or Ştefan Luchian.
