On January 23, 2021, the Post of Moldova put into circulation a special postmark dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the start of the revolution led by the Romanian Tudor Vladimirescu (circa 1780-1821). Tudor Vladimirescu joined around 1818 the "Filikí Etería" ("Society of Friends" in Greek), called "Hétairie" in French, which was the most important of the secret societies born from the dissemination of the ideas of the American Revolution and the French Revolution in Romanian, Serbian and especially Greek society in the Balkans under Ottoman occupation. "Filikí Etería" played a fundamental role in the preparation and the unfolding of the Greek War of Independence.
