On March 12, 2021 disappeared Nicolae Dabija (death due to Covid-19), Moldovan writer, literary historian and politician, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, honorary member of the Romanian Academy, honorary member of the European Academy of sciences, arts and letters or editor-in-chief of the weekly "Literature and Art". In the 1990s (he was a member of parliament twice between 1990 and 2001), Nicolae Dabija played a key role in national revival efforts in Moldova by supporting the idea of restoring the Latin alphabet and declaring Romanian as the official language of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic. His involvement in this struggle for the imposition of scientific truth on Romanian history and language, to which he devoted inspired verses, essentially determines this multidimensional personality..
