On November 22, 2012 took place the official inauguration of the Kilometer Zero in front of the Central Post Office in Chișinău, in the presence of the Minister of Information Technology, the mayor of Chișinău and the Director General of the Moldovan Post. As it is the case in other cities around the world (Paris, Moscow, Bucharest, Beijing...), this Kilometer Zero corresponds to the kilometer zero point of the roads leaving the Moldovan capital and thus a reference for the calculation of distances to other cities in the country.
