It's rather unusual but the Moldovan Post has chosen the city of Bălți (Post Office MD-3118) for the First Day of Issue, on June 20, 2013, about a new set of two stamps dedicated to traditional rites and customs ("Ritualuri și obiceiuri tradiționale") in the country. I was very lucky to receive the official FDC below (print run : 300 only !) regrading this nice series (print run : 100,000 for each stamp) designed by Semion Zamşa. The FDC postmark as well as the first stamp below on the left (L 1.75) is devoted to the tradition of well cleaning ("Curăţare a fîntînilor") which usually takes place at Pentecost and allows the invocation for rain throughout the year as well as the purification of water.
