Eminent Personalities (II)

The year 2013 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of the two greatest opera composers of the 19th century, Italian Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901) and German Richard Wagner (1813-1883). Many postal administrations have already issued stamps in their honor this year : Serbia, Vatican City, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina (Sarajevo and Republika Srpska), Portugal, Hungary, Monaco. On August 2, 2013, the Post of Moldov has issued two stamps devoted to these two composers in a series of four stamps featuring some famous music world's figures. Read more..
