On January 21, 2019, the Post of Moldova issued its first prepaid envelope of the year, commemorating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the European Court of Human Rights ("Curtea Europeană a Drepturilor Omului" in Romanian), a jurisdiction created in 1959 by the Council of Europe, whose mission is to ensure compliance with the commitments entered into by the signatory states of the European Convention on Human Rights.
