Suddenly dead following a cardiac arrest at the age of 71, Efim Tarlapan became known through parodies, his fables, his epigrams and aphorisms collected in many volumes, becoming the best representative of the satirical and humoristic genre in Moldova. Efim Tarlapan studied at the Faculty of Philology of the State University of Moldova and then continued his studies at the "Maxim Gorki" Institute of Literature in Moscow in the late 1980s..
