Liviu Damian (March 13, 1935, Corlăteni, Bălți, România — July 20, 1986, Chişinău, Moldavian SSR, USSR) was an author, essayist, journalist, poet, cultural person, Romanian writer and translator from the Republic of Moldova, a representative of the generation of the 1960s. A street in Durlești, Chișinău, is named after him.

Liviu Damian studied at the Faculty of History and Philology of the State University of Moldova between 1955 and 1960 then worked for the newspaper "The young Leninist" before being deputy editor of the magazine "Nistru" (1963-1968) and editor-in-chief of the State Committee for Publishing, Printing and the Book Trade (1968-1971).
