Timofei Moșneaga Republican Clinical Hospital (RCH) (Romanian: Spitalul Clinic Republican „Timofei Moșneaga” (SCR)) is the largest medical institution in Moldova with 795 beds and 20 hospital departments. On December 26, 1817, the first medical institution of Bessarabia, with the support of sponsors and citizens, was officially inaugurated in Chişinău. Named Gubernial Hospital in 1870 (capacity of 100 beds), this institution suffered heavy damage after bombing during the two World Wars. It was rebuilt and named "Republican Clinical Hospital" and is today the most important medical institution of Moldova, with nearly 800 beds, 12 units and 1,300 qualified specialists. On October 6, 2017, the Post of Moldova has put into circulation its 9th prepaid envelope this year, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of this Republican Clinical Hospital ("Spitalul Clinic Republican"), named after physician and public figure Timofei Moşneaga this year..
