The Post of Moldova (Poşta Moldovei) had already issued several stamps dedicated to the country's declaration of independence, in 2001 (10th anniversary), 2006 (15th anniversary) or 2011 (20th anniversary). On August 27, 2016, a new souvenir sheet (consisting of 3 stamps) was put into circulation this time to commemorate the 25th anniversary of this Declaration of Independence (mention "25 de ani de la proclamarea Independenţei Republicii Moldova" printed with a golden ink in the top margin).
