Along with Mihai Eminescu, Ion Creangă (1837-1889), depicted on the stamp on the left (print run: 40,000), is today one of the classics of Romanian-language literature, in particular thanks to his autobiographical work "Amintiri din copilărie" ("Childhood Memories") published in 1892.
