The 2nd European Games 2019 (Belarusian: II Еўрапейскія гульні, Jeŭrapiejskija hulni 2019; Russian: II Европейские игры, Jevropejskije igry 2019) will be held in Minsk, Belarus from 21 June to 30 June 2019. The games will feature 200 events in 15 sports (23 disciplines). The organisers expect around 4,000 athletes from 50 countries. Ten of the sports will offer qualification opportunities for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. From 21 to 30 June 2019, Belarus organized in Minsk the largest sporting event in its history, the 2nd edition of the European Games (the first edition was held in Baku in 2015). More than 4000 athletes from 50 countries were involved in 15 sports (23 disciplines), including 10 for which athletes were able to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. The Belarus Post of course issued several stamps on this occasion and, if I am not mistaken, the Post of Moldova was the only other postal administration to also devote a stamp series to these 2nd European Games.
