On August 7, 2021, the penultimate day of the 32nd Olympiad in Tokyo 2020, organized from July 23 to August 8, 2021 (due to the global Covid-19 pandemic), the Post of Moldova had put into circulation two stamps illustrating two sports, wrestling and canoeing (sprint). These two stamps (1.75L and 15.50L, print run: 25,000 each), designed by Vitaliu Pogolşa, were printed in sheetlets of 10 stamps each. In Tokyo, the Moldovan delegation was made up of 20 athletes (9 men, 11 women) engaged in 8 sports: athletics, judo, archery, wrestling (freestyle and Greco-Roman), swimming, canoeing, shooting and weightlifting. As in 2008 in Beijing, Moldova won only one medal at these Tokyo 2020 games, in bronze thanks to Serghei Tarnovschi in the men's C-1 1000 metres (canoeing)..
