The Post of Moldova had already issued stamps in 2001 (10th anniversary) and 2011 (20th anniversary) to commemorate the first issue of postage stamps, on June 23, 1991 precisely, one year just after the proclamation of sovereignty of the country. A prepaid card was issued in 2016 to celebrate this 25th anniversary and a special postmark was put into circulation all year 2021 by the main post office in Chișinău (MD-2012) on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the issue of these first stamps. On August 27, 2021, an elegant souvenir sheet was also issued concerning this same 30th anniversary ("30 de ani de la emiterea primelor mărci poștale ale Republicii Moldova"), present on this official FDC (print run: 300) with postmark from Chișinău (MD-2012).
