In the Summer 1963, a farmer from Lărguţa (district of Cantemir, south-west of the country), Dumitru Raicu, discovered by chance in his field, following heavy rain, a real treasure consisting of a gold pot and 21 gold coins, a 2300 years old treasure. This ensemble was studied at the time by the archaeologist A. Nudelman, who handed it to the National Museum of Archeology and History and then to the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History where this treasure is preserved (but does not seem to be exposed to the public because of its great value ...).Some other treasures (Cărbuna, Chetroşica) are also part of the collections of this Museum..
