Vladimir Curbet (5 December 1930 – 8 December 2017) was a Moldovan choreographer. From 1957 until his death in late 2017 he was the 13th director of the Moldovan national folk dance ensemble Joc. On December 8, 2017, three days after his 87th birthday, Moldovan choreographer, ethnographer and folklorist Vladimir Curbet died in Chişinău. Vladimir Curbet (1930-2017) marked several generations of Moldovans through the National Academic Ensemble of Folk Dance "JOC" (which celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2015) of which he was general director from 1957 until his death last year. At the head of this ensemble, Vladimir Curbet knew how to carve pieces of Moldovan folklore and turn them into real choreographic jewels without affecting their originality, considering that the songs, the dances and the popular costume are the most precious pieces of the Moldovan folk heritage..
